This has become one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. The food is consistently delicious, especially the sushi, and the menu is updated regularly, which keeps us coming back to try new things. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and makes us feel right at home. We wanted to leave a review because this is one of those hidden gems that deserves more attention and more customers. If you visit, be sure to save room for the matcha pudding dessert—it’s absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying.

We ordered the katsu curry, the fish collar set, and the nabeyaki udon, and we were incredibly impressed by the food quality of every single dish. We are notoriously picky when it comes to Japanese food because my wife is Japanese—and our toddler is honestly even pickier than I am. She usually refuses to touch restaurant food if she isn't a fan, but she gave this place her stamp of approval and ate a ton! Every element of the meal was spot on. The fish collar was perfectly fresh, and the crunch factor was amazing—the katsu on the curry and the tempura in the udon stayed incredibly crispy. The curry itself was deeply flavorful with just the right amount of spice. But most importantly? The rice was cooked perfectly. It drives me crazy when Japanese restaurants can’t get the rice right, but this place nailed it. Authentic, delicious, and highly recommended for families or anyone who appreciates high-quality Japanese cooking. We will definitely be back!

The food was good, portions were generous, and overall it was solid value for money. Everything was enjoyable and satisfying, though nothing particularly stood out as memorable. Based on the food, atmosphere, and service, I initially felt a 4-star rating was fair. What changed my impression was an interaction at the end of the meal. A server encouraged us to leave a Google review and said that posting photos would qualify us for a $10 discount. After I submitted a 4-star review with photos, another staff member informed me that the discount would only be honored if I changed my rating to 5 stars, explaining that a 4-star review would lower the restaurant’s overall average. I declined the discount because I believe reviews should reflect a customer’s genuine experience rather than be tied to a specific rating. While I appreciate businesses encouraging feedback, I don’t think customers should feel pressured to leave only 5-star reviews in order to receive a promised incentive. The meal itself was enjoyable, but this experience left me with a less favorable impression of the service and review practices.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel comfortable right away. The service was amazing. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our meal. We ordered the shishito peppers and the pork katsu curry lunch set, and both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the curry was easily one of the best curries we’ve ever tasted. Every bite was delicious, and it was clear that a lot of care went into preparing the food. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

Love this place!! I always order their pork katsu but this time I tried the udon curry (new item) and it was so legit. The flavor was spot on. Authentic home style Japanese in the North Park Slope. Highly recommended
